Delighted to announce that ‘Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)’ by Spiller feat. Sophie Ellis-Bextor is the soundtrack for SKY TV's "That’s Christmas Sorted" campaign over the next two months across the UK and ROI.
The video was directed by Dave Meyers, whose music video credits include work with Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar and Harry Styles, with choreography by Shay Latukolan. Latukolan previously worked on Jungle’s Back On 74, which became a global hit.
Originally released in 2000, ‘Groovejet’ reached number one in the UK, Ireland, Scotland, Australia and New Zealand. It famously sampled ‘Love Is You’ by Carol Williams and holds another piece of music and tech history: it was the first track ever played on an iPod prototype when Apple’s head of design, Jony Ive, demonstrated the device to then CEO Steve Jobs.
We worked alongside our partners at Defected Records and Sony Music Publishing to secure and licence the placement. The deal involved multiple stakeholders on the master side, alongside a complex publishing structure, with usage spanning TV (including VOD), online, radio, cinema, retail, PR and OOH.
A great result, and kudos to everyone involved.
